How far does the case study need to go to explain why things happened?
As compared to those thing being explained as part of the professional conversation(presentation)?
If the case study supposed to read stand alone document, how do you stop the conversation just being a re-hash of the written submission?

Some Assessors have described the case study as an Aide-memoire (simply an aid to memory) for the applicant during the professional conversation. The applicant might elaborate during the conversation on notes contained within his or her case study. The Assessors will have read the case study, so applicants should not simply read the notes contained in the study. This is not a conversation.
Applicants need to know their projects inside out and back to front, so that they will confidently and in a time controlled way move through the conversation discussing their experience and answering any questions the Assessors may have. To help with reference to documents during this process tabulation and page numbering is important.
