I have read that some portfolios submitted for registration are not accepted as suitable, and are returned without the professional conversation taking place. Clearly I would not want to submit a portfolio that I thought was unlikely to be accepted, but I was wondering whether in the cases that this does happen whether the applicant gets their fee refunded or not?
I understand that if the professional conversation does take place and the applicant doesn't pass then they would not be refunded. Am I correct?

Applicants endevour to create a case study which will hopefully show their experience to the Assessors. Occasionally there are significant deficiencies identified in a case study as part of the Assessors preliminary evaluation (RAR 13 (1) (a) and the applicant will be offered an opportunity to withdraw their application and come back in another intake. If this opportunity is taken the registration fee is refunded.
If any applicant goes through the process including the professional conversation and they fail, then there is no refund of the fee.
